How to Wire a GT-77ATV Spreader
Herd Gals - Monday, June 14, 2010Today we're going to talk about how to wire your GT-77ATV spreader. We receive many phone calls on this topic with the question, "we wired up the motor, but it won't run" or "I think my motor is bad. It worked last year, but this year I turn it on and it won't work." So, we're going to make this real simple and give step by step instructions on how to wire the motor so that it will work every time.
The first step is to take the orange wire that comes out of the motor and attach it to one side of the push-pull switch.
Next, the #812 wiring kit which comes with your seeder, take the part which has the short fuse line and attach it to the positive side of the battery. The longer part of the wire, attach to the other side of the push-pull switch. Now you should be able to pull up on the push -pull switch and the motor will run. If it does not run, then you have a grounding problem.
Now for the grounding problems. The ground wire on the motor grounds itself back to the seeder. If the motor is not running and you have it wired correctly, it needs to be grounded. Take the small black wire that comes with your seeder and attach it to any place on the seeder and the other end to the ground of the battery. This should be a good ground and your motor should work correctly. If you're using our #544 3-point mounting, you will definitely need to ground the motor.
Well, it's as simple as that. Don't make this more difficult than it is. Just follow our instructions and it will work the way it should.
Fire Ant Bait Seeder - GT-77ATV
Herd Gals - Monday, May 10, 2010It's fire ant season again and we have the seeder to take care of those pesky little critters. The GT-77ATV for fire ants is designed to put out fire ant bait like none of the others can. David Herd, owner of Herd Seeder Co., Inc., has been testing fire ant bait for years with people at Texas A & M University and Auburn University and attends the fire ant bait convention most years.
The GT-77ATV for fire ant bait is the best seeder for this job, as we can get down to 1 lb. per acre, where other seeders can't get this accurate. We have instructions on all fire ant baits and the seeder will be set up for whichever fire ant bait you're going to use. We have special plates that sit in the bottom of the hopper to regulate how much fire ant bait is distributed. When you're done putting out your fire ant bait and you want to do food plots, seeding or fertilizing, just take out the plates and you are equipped with a GT-77ATV that can do that.
If you decide to order a GT-77ATV for fire ants, just let us know which fire ant bait you're going to spread and what kind of ATV you're going to mount the seeder on and we'll make sure you get everything that you need.
